A Valentine Written By My 4 Most Played Songs
Alternate Titles: What My Playlist Is Telling Me, My 4 On-Repeat Songs
I thought it would be fun to write a poem exclusively using lines from the 4 songs I have been listening to non-stop lately. The songs are Daisy (by Arden Jones), Lady by the Sea (by Stephen Sanchez), Driving Myself Home (by Rose Betts), and Stick Season (by Noah Kahan). These songs are all beautiful. My poem… admittedly less beautiful.
Here she is:
My head high
I rolled down all the windows
Like a movie scene
I know you think I'm crazy
but I did not lose
And I'll dream each night of some version of you
Your voice it blooms the flowers on the beach
My life is just a girl with silly dreams
And I'm split in half, but that'll have to do
I wore my favorite dress and I
I'll see myself and I will be surprised
Stay I'll paint the picture
Take my breath away
And memories are something
But, ooh, I love it
When you talk to me like you do
I think you're a star
that'll have to do
